Like I've said before I don't think removing the gender option really matters because it's not like it's really affected anything important in the first place, especially since the one thing it did affect starter character design can be changed so easily I really don't see the issue here. It's not like pretty much everyone doesn't already use a mishmash of various "gendered" accessories and whatnot to customize their avatars anyways, the entire catalog has no gender restrictions as is.
